Great news for those attending the Potato Blossom Festival this Saturday. The popular Mashed Potato Wrestling event will return after being on hiatus for a couple of years. It has been my understanding that the event wasn't part of the festival because of the lack of paid sponsorship for the event's needed insurance policy.
It's not too late to make plans to attend this event. Mashed potato wrestling will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19. This year, it will be sponsored by WCXU Radio and HSF Foods. It will be held at 227 Main Street in Fort Fairfield, Maine - in Aroostook County.
The current weather forecast for this coming Saturday is a lovely 81*F and dry.
All the information you need about the festival's events are at The Potato Blossom Festival Site.

Interesting festival! I love to make twice baked potatoes. Yum!
My boys would have loved to have been in that potato pit!!
I always buy small red potatos and we like to steam them with the skin on.
Baked yummo
I love my french fries, too. Not oven baked, though, I like mine all fried in oil.
I must admit I can't turn away a nice hot jojo pototo.
:)
I think mashed potatoes would be lowest on my list of how I like them prepared.
My favorite would be chunks of potatoes fried and salted.
I also really like baked potatoes with cheese and bacon.
I'm hungry. :)
Hi Maisie, wonderful! I've never been mud wrestling, let alone potato mash wrestling. Have you done either?
Thanks for visiting my Blogstock stuff, I couldn't remember if I had thanked you or not. My time has been flying since that event (memory too?).
Please come back soon. The PHOTO blog is fairly active--at least twice a week--also.
..
i love baked potatoes, with butter, cheese, and bacon bits (now you've made me hungry!).
i also love fried potatoes. sliced, fried in a lot of oil in a frying pan until they are crispy brown. yum! but not too healthy so i haven't done that in a looooong time.
That is great! I like them as french fries also, on the crispy side with salt pepper and katchup! We will be in ME in August, can't wait!
Stop by my blog for the Aloha Friday Q, something you might not have ever thought about!

I love when my hubby peels them, cuts them up, puts them into a 450 oven for 30 minutes with a little olive oil, salt and pepper on them. Amazing homemade fries!
Baked is also yummy, but sour cream is not too healthy to add on ;)
